An Old Friend with a New Face. By Mrs. Parsons. Three Volumes. 12mo. 10s.6d. Longman. 1797.
Mrs. Parsons has justly obtained some degree of reputation as a writer of novels, and the present is entitled to considerable praise. We must, nevertheless, observe as the critic did to Sir Fretful Plagiary, there is a falling off in the last volume. We shall neither be surprised nor angry, if the fair writer should give us the same answer, which Sir Fretful made to the said critic. [complete]
