Of this work, we can only observe that it is equal to our fair author's former productions - no relaxation in invention - no [424] falling off in style, so frequently observed in many candidates for literary fame. In fine, the name of Miss Anna Maria Porter, as well as that of her sister, has long stood the test of fastidious criticism. In these volumes, we felt much satisfaction, yet we could have wished, that her selection of names to many well-drawn characters, had sounded more harmonious to an English reader.
